I think one good suggestion is to set a day aside for the staff to audit the weeks rep system. I know there is a lot of ppl here and that is a lot of rep to track but if setup right I'm sure it can be done. I will volunteer a day to help you guys out.

I once had a guy rep me and his message said "I rep you, you rep me". I never repped him. back

I don't think you realize how busy the mods already are. The system is fine. One unearned rep every once in a while isn't so bad. Just report it if you get a bunch.

I have received 4-5 persons contacting me by PM, AIM, and my MSN handles to start small talk. ALL OF THEM turned to "hey, I need some rep, can you...." and I terminate the convo but one still left me a rep for some reason.

I will be directing the next person to msg me for rep here. Its totally retarded that people are trying to get around the system.

Some of those who sign my reps for great posts have not always posted in my threads.

Heres what i think. The message you receive after you give rep should be changed. It may be somewhat deceiving for the newcomers when it says "you may receive this rep back" or something to that extent. It should say "this is a way of saying thanks for a useful post" or "thanks for supporting our rep system".

Wait, so I can't mass rep everyone that helped me in a thread with the same message like "For Helping Me With My New Build -mrtn400"?

No, you misunderstand

The crime wasn't that he repped 26 people. The crime was the message he put in the rep. He was giving them rep with the intention they would rep him back.

Most of the reps I give are like this. I'll see a great post and give the poster a rep.

Great idea.

Something like "Thank you for acknowledging the contribution this member made."

No, that's absolutely fine. If you wrote "Thanks for helping. Rep me back." or "Here's a rep. Rep me back." that would be totally different. If several members help you, by all means acknowledge that help with reps. That's why we have the rep system.

Im sorry. Ive done both of those yesterday. I read the TOS and will be more cautious about this REP system.

And now you gone and taken all 4 of my reps away.. How lame.
