I dont get why people would be so desperate for rep just to sell? why not just make an ebay account if you really want to sell something? let me guess its easier to scam people here...

I'm baffled as well, because it isn't easy to scam people here.

In fact, you will more than likely get more money for your components on Ebay.

I am pretty sure you were NOT oblivious to the fact that asking for return reps was a bad idea. I knew that from the first couple of posts I had here that rep abuse was dumb.

Reps are not a competition of numbers people, its to signify that you are useful, post something decent, and don't spam (rep to post count ratio).

yeah, you don't get much for components on OCN. The best deals on hardware is here, because everyone knows about sites like newegg and then bases their prices lower than that. On ebay people are probably comparing them to Best Buy prices

as far as rep abuse, its so easy to point out and it is usually pointless. Reps are intended to imitate the knowledge and respect for the user.

It's not easy to scam people here because usually you are known for before having to do any trades and stuff like that.

And isn't it kind of obvious that some of these stuff you aren't suppose to do?

Reputation abuse is taken very seriously here on Overclock.net. There is nothing "lame" behind removing REPs from members that abuse this system. Both proof and justifications are needed in order for the Staff to actually remove REPs from members.
