I was the one who went from 3 rep to 37 or something like that, some guy named punnany asked for my email so we could exchange 790i ultra info so i agreed turns out he was a wierdo and wouldn't stop emailing me so i told this guy to leave me the F alone so he came back on here and reped every signal one of my post leaving messages like they will ban you. I hate you, your a scumbag, im gonna get you banned i hope the forum mods banned that guy. I am glad they just removed them and saw that he was trying to get me banned i like ocn and i am happy i can stay. So if your planning on getting some one banned that way don't try the mods are smarter than that.

I can't understand the greed for all this rep to be honest. In fact I very rarely rep people at all unless its for something which is worth while.

Rep doesn't make you a better contributor to this forum, you can still talk crap even if you have 2 million rep.

EDIT: I would like to "come out of the closet" and admit I was one of the ones with For Sale Threads that got removed. I didn't get mad, though. I did, however, feel like a scumbag, lol.

I share a few people's frustrations, however, in that I HAVE left posts that have been somewhat useful. But because I'm a little newer and the vast majority of the ones I am even able to offer help to are brand spanking new members, they seem to be unaware of the rep system and how it works. So some of my good posts have gone unrewarded. I just tried to take the matter into my own hands and that's where I went wrong.

But I've learned my lesson. I'm on OCN for the long haul, and the last thing I need is a BAD reputation. That's worse than no reputation at all. I've even changed my outlook. No more trying to find people to help just to get rep. I'll now look for people to help because they need help. If I get rep then so be it. In the meantime, I'll be content being the new geeky kid with low numbers until I'm able to prove myself worthy.

On a side note, thanks, Taeric, for putting me in check and not banning me. I love this site. My wife says I love it more than her, but that's still undetermined....

In cases like yours, it's best to just PM the staff to report the problem. I'll tell you, though, it's really tough not to hand down a very stiff infraction when all of those illicit reps were used to create a sale and wanted thread.

Not quite in the titles of threads/posts, but similar..

I've seen a couple of signitures that say something along the lines of "If you help me, I will rep you"

Is that sort ok? Not asking for rep, but rather the opposite. I'd rather know for sure that something like that is ok. Not that I would add that. Actually I should probably rep a little more for worthy posts I read, even if it wasn't for me.

That and any reference to giving or offering Reps is prohibited in any way shape or form... except to say you Rep someone for there info like 'rep+' or 'rep for good info' or the likes in a post reply.
