Call for Nominations: Closed: Various Forum Supervisor, Forum Editor, and Forum Director Positions

As has been posted in recent weeks, Overclock.net is looking to add new individuals to the forum staff. Several positions have been filled to date, and the bulk of the remaining positions are advertised in this thread..

Available positions


Forum Supervisors for the following sections and forums:

• Folding@Home (including all subforums)
• AMD (including all subforums)
• Intel (including all subforums)
• Graphics Cards (ATI, Nvidia, General, or all)
• Cooling (any or all subforums)
• Volt Mods (including all subforums)
• Specialty Builds (HTPC, Silent Computing, or both)
• Case Mods and Cases (including all subforums)
• Components (Sound Cards and Computer Audio, Monitors and Displays, Computer Peripherals, or a combination of those subforums)
• Mobile Computing (including all subforums)
• Benchmarks
• Video Games (PC Games, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, General, or any combination of subforums)
• Software, Programming, and Coding (Other Software and Coding and Programming including subforums)

Forum Editors for the following sections and forums:

• AMD (including all subforums)
• Intel (including all subforums)
• Graphics Cards (ATI, Nvidia, General, or all)
• Cooling (any or all)
• Volt Mods (including all subforums)
• Specialty Builds (any or all subforums)
• Case Mods and Cases (including all subforums)
• Components (any or all subforums)
• Mobile Computing (including all subforums)
• Benchmarks
• Video Games (PC Games, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, General, or any combination of subforums)
• Software, Programming, and Coding (all subforums available except Downloads)

Forum Directors positions are available for any forums that are listed as available in both categories above. While Forum Director positions are technically open to anyone, we will likely only consider very experienced members for these positions.

Your role in the process
We need your help to identify individuals to consider for this role.

Before you make your nomination(s), please read the following to ensure the person you nominate is right for the job

What it takes to be a Forum Supervisor, Forum Editor, or Forum Director
- Excellent written communication skills
- Great people skills
- A helping demeanor
- A lifelong passion for computers/overclocking
- Expertise in at least one specific overclocking/computing field
- Perspective, vision, character
- An active presence on the overclock.net forum (ideally 5+ days per week)
- Patience and persistence
- A thick skin
- Dedication to the site and the art/science of overclocking as a whole
- Proactive yet cautious approach

The role of the Forum Supervisor
- To ensure visitors and members have the best experience possible at Overclock.net
- To ensure Overclock.net contains industry leading information
- To uphold the rules/TOS/values of the community
- To stimulate participation and growth
- To ensure that the technical prowess of Overclock.net members is showcased to it's fullest
- To be a staple within the community through routine and consistent presence
- To maintain the upkeep and appearance of Overclock.net

The role of the Forum Editor
- In addition to the duties listed above for Forum Supervisors, Forum Editors will be required to produce unique content for Overclock.net
- Forum Editors will not be responsible for maintenance/moderation activities except in their own threads

The role of the Forum Directors
- Forum Directors will be responsible for the duties of both Forum Supervisors and Forum Editors

Pay (or lack of :/)
Officially these are volunteer (no pay) positions. However each Supervisor, Editor, and Director will receive:
- A great opportunity to guide elements of a major overclocking community
- An overclocking.net email address
- Other small perks over the course of time

Who can be nominated?
- Any member may be nominated
- We encourage people to nominate themselves if they feel they meet the qualifications

How to submit your nominations
- Please submit nominations in the Overclock.net Ticket System - using the category in the drop down of "Job Application". Make sure to click the "private" box in order to restrict viewing access to Admins/GMs. Be sure to title your tickets appropriately.

What to include
1) Who you would like to nominate. Please submit separate tickets for each member you wish to nominate.
2) Why you feel that the member (or you) are right for the job. Please be specific.
3) List the specific section(s) or forums(s) that you feel your nominee is best suited for. The lists above indicate which sections will be taken as a whole (such as Intel) and which sections which may be subdivided (such as graphics cards).

See my blog for some tips on who would be good nominees. We will not automatically select every nominee with 1000 reps nor will automatically exclude members with a lower rep count. Each nominee will be evaluated on their own merits, and I expect to side a wide range of members selected.

Note to Marketplace Mod candidates: If you previously nominated yourself for a Marketplace Mod position and no longer wish to go after that position due to greater interest in positions not posted above please do the following two things: 1) post a comment in your previous nomination thread stating that you're withdrawing your nomination and 2) add a brief note at the end of your new nomination ticket stating that you're withdrawing your former nomination in favor of going after the positions designated in the new ticket.

Timing
- Request for nominations will end 1 week from today (June 24 at midnight ET)
- About 2 weeks from that point, successful nominees will be selected (on or about July 9)

When applying for (Forum Supervisor/Forum Editor/Forum Director) do you have to be specific in terms of which section of the Forum you would like to occupy? Or do you simply apply for (Forum Supervisor/Forum Editor/Forum Director) in general?
