New Overclock.net Design Coming - Homepage Preview - Overclock.net

Hi Guys

We have been busy working on the loooong awaited redesign of the site. It's been a challenge to find a design that will keep the community at the forefront while better showcasing some of the great talent and content contained within the site. I think the design shown below can be a great first step in this direction.

A few notes:
· It's by no means polished yet. We will put it live "as is" as soon as we can and work with someone a little more talented than I to polish up the design and graphical assets
· I know the "tabbed" interface may appear scary at first but please note that they will be "smart" tabs. They will save their state via cookie and user profile. So if you only look at tab x, you will not have to click on it each time. Also, the tabs allow us to utilize more width.
· The Video/Images box is done in flash and is pretty slick. We will use it to allow our Editors to pull out great images/videos etc. and showcase them to the community.
· This is the 960pixel wide version. I think we will do another 1 or 2 wider versions. Looking into site stats now.
Please provide your feedback. I know change can be tough but I think this change is needed in order to freshen things up a bit and make room for some new functionality.

That design by far exceeded my expectations

However, I would like to see an events tab replace one of MOTM (instead of having it twice)
