Default Marketplace Downtime Alert - (Completed) Saturday Night 10/24/09

Hi all,

As part of a massive reorganization of the Marketplace, those forums (For Sale/Wanted, Online Deals, and Freebies) will be unavailable from 9pm EST to midnight EST on this Saturday, the 24th. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but are confident the changes will be greatly beneficial to navigating and finding things within the Marketplace.

Thanks!

This downtime is completed early.

Be prepared for some good things to come from this
Because of a members suggestion and some hard work by some members, myself, and the Management, the Market Place will have a whole new format!

This will effect your current "Bulk" type of For Sale threads which we'll address and provide information as to how to proceed with old and new threads when the reformat is implemented.

The General "Market Place" format will get a full overhaul.
The full detailed "Rules" will reflect the entire Market Place in one sticky.

A friendly FAQ will also accompany each relative For Sale Item segment along with a short format Rules Sticky relative to that specific segment to simplify the rules for each to provide a quick reference you.

Items For Sale will be in a segmented format like...

  1. MB, CPUs, RAM & related cables
  2. Video Cards and related components
  3. Cooling, Air & Water: Fans, Fan Controllers, fittings, blocks, plumbing, etc...)

So when people are selling a bunch of stuff the will have to make a new thread in each individual section?

That is correct.
This will facilitate an easier means for finding items.
Lend to an easier means of easier to read and follow For Sale Rules.
Friendly FAQs thanks to ProjecT TimeZ

How it affects the seller.
The Freebies, Wanted, Appraisals, On Line Deals and For Sale will all be in one segment.

Multiple sections for various items and a simple solution
Create a Favorites Folder "My FS stuff at OCN and put links to your threads for quick easy access.

I'm going to start the process tonight. Most of the work will be done in private, the Sat downtime will essentially be "going public", mass moving threads and such.

Was this where I was supposed to say something like "Yeah, I'm good!"?

Yes you are

BTW, I redid the reply in the Reformat thread
Hope it helps.
