Or for MS, they can use stem cells to stop what is blocking the signals from the nervous system across the synapse, or to regenerate damaged brain cells for Alzheimer's, or even for transplant patients who can have their transplanted organ treated with their own body's stem cells to reduce rejection of the new organ.... I can go on... there really are so many possibilities with stem cells.
Good thing Bush is no longer in charge then....

i agree, I have been a proponent of Stem Cell testing for years. The same thing with Cord Blood. It is amazing at what can be achieved with that. Of course, the wife and I had our daughters cord blood banked, just in case. After 15 years, assuming we do not need it (hopefully we wont), that blood is donated to a lab for research. As you may be aware, cord blood has the highest concentration of stem cells in it.

The wife and I already donate every month to various charities, so which ever OCN chooses, I will donate there that month. I sleep better knowing that I am not frivolously spending my money and hopefully helping out someone less fortunate.

Please keep the politics out of it.

How about setting up a paypal button that people could add to this amount with?

Anything that helps with the homeless or getting health care for transients. I spent far to many years on my own against the world and would love to see OCN help with that kind of stuff. Nothing is worse than being on your own on the street and not being able to see the doctor when you know you are sick.

At least hunger you can combat for awhile with water. Getting sick isnt always the same.

How kind of you. It is nice to see people who can help actually do it.

Why not support many 3rd world countries by donating to the AIDS Foundation?

Autism Awareness.
I have an autistic cousin. I think it'd be cool to help autism out. Not a lot of research goes into it.

Let's close these suggestions (for this month) in the next few hours. I will then create a poll for the Community to vote on in order to decide where our first Overclockers Care donation will go to.

Thank guys!

If anyone is SUPER bored, please post a summary of all of the charities listed, their URLs and maybe even a one line description of the charity. If nobody has time/interest - no problem at all. I will get it done in a few hours.

Thanks!
