It's a cancer related charity, but it's aimed at kids, and taking care of their medical expenses so the family has one less thing to worry about.

A much less known charity is the Timmy Foundation. They strive to ensure that children around the world have access to things we take for granted (whether you be stateside or elsewhere...if you're reading this on a computer, you take these things for granted). Things such as education and health care are not always available to children in developing areas.

I wouldn't have known about the organization except for as an executive for Indiana University's Student Foundation we have partnered with them to help raise awareness and support. I suppose you could say that gives me a biased interest in their particular Indiana University chapter, but it is further reaching than that.

Others that greatly interest me are Riley's Hospital for Children and Susan G. Komen.

However, given the nature of this board and how we're all enormous computer geeks, why not something like 1Laptop/1Child.

1.) St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

2.) I would like to see the charitable contribution going to a different organization every month in order to try and encompass all the members various concerns. It would also spotlight different charities each month and expose OCN members to a charity that they perhaps didn't know about.
