Exclamation Progress Thru Processors. its like folding! :D

I was browsing facebook and came across Progress Thru Processors. Its somewhat like folding but for 3-6 diffrent causes. You can pick one cause to use your Processing power towards or all of them.

DOWNLOAD/APP PAGE-
http://apps.facebook.com/processors/home.php

Im fairly new to the app and i seached for it on OCN but never found it here.

Thought i'd put it up and let you guys know. Now we can help multiple causes at once.

Please download the app and support!

If you have questions i'll try my best to answer them.

Thanks!

[i didn't seach deep on OCN about Progress thru processors so if this is a repost, sorry!]

king_play334, this Progress thru Processors thing is basically BOINC. I remember checking it out a while back. Earlier this year, my efforts to get an Overclock.net BOINC team (or even a project specific team) were shot down mainly due to the fact that OCN has a very reputable Folding@Home team (currently #8 in the world) and the administrators and high ranking members have told me that although it is a good cause and all, there is a good chance that putting up a BOINC team along their Folding@Home would cause their F@H team to lose members and thus begin to decline in the rankings. A completely understandable move in my opinion (personally, I don't use F@H, I am World Community Grid and Collatz Conjecture).

I'm not trying to take away from what you trying to achieve here. I rep+ your post on this for bringing this to the eye of some of the OCNers that do not have interest in folding. I'm just telling you in advance just in case you decide to being pushing this.

Thanks Gamer11200.
I saw there were a few OCN members that were looking for alternatives to Folding@Home. I've only been using PTP for a short time and i find its a really cool idea. Now i fold with my GTX 280's, and use PTP on my CPU while i sleep.
I haven't done much digging but i know 75% of OCN has extremely powerful computers and if they tried can make a diffrence. I didn't do much digging but i found some other alternatives to folding@home are,
SETI@Home
MilkyWay@home
Rosetta@home
Einstein@Home
Astropulse

I haven't looked deep into more @home app's. But i enjoy folding becuase its something i can do with fellow members of OCN. Hope fully OCN will expand soon and we'll have more @Home app's going.

Thanks for the awsome explanation! +rep

No problem man, hey check out the World Community Grid, that is one of the more popular ones and it is run by IBM
