lol fair enough. yeah well my demo was a downloaded version from......bigpond games maybe? cant remember. my mate downloaded it, i just put it on my ipod. as you do so does yours work in 64-bit naturally, or did you have to change the Vsync setting?

btw hows ur performance on the HD2900? coz i wanna blame nvidia drivers...but if ATI is getting really low performance aswell.....might just be that this game is uber demanding after all.

The game is uber demanding with everything on very high. ESPECIALLY at 1920*1080....lol. I know that we'll have some better drivers out with the retail version. I turn shadows on low (haven't compared performance in detail, but I usually don't care much about shadows),
shaders to very high (in the first screenies)
textures to very high
objects to high
physics very high
water very high
effects high
particles high
sound very high
volumetric effects medium (on the beta I didn't see much difference in IQ or performance hit)
I'm still testing all of the settings except for shaders. As you can see by this screenshot that the performance hit is HUGE when compared to the change in IQ. I think that parallax occlusion mapping is off on high though....not sure though. I'm going to do some testing and I'll post my findings. I really don't think I'll be running very high on everything until I get either better drivers or another card for Crossfire.

Doesn't go black for me until we jump down the ledge, after the alien crashes through the boat. It's a whole chase. I can post screenshots if you like.

Well setting textures and objects to very high from high only cost my 3 FPS at the scene where I'm choking the guy on the cliff. I'm going to keep that for sure.
I'm going to test volumetric effects and particles now.

Either way this game is unlike anything I've ever seen.....I really have to roll my eyes at these n00bs that are saying 'oh it's only a little better looking than far cry'!

Ouch.....that sucks man! I wonder if it has something to do with the video driver's code operating in 64 bit, or rather the game's code? I really hope it's the driver.....
