wow. im using a gts 640 and vista and im hopin not to get hit with the bomb you guys have been hit with. i think its the 169.01 drivers. my system didnt like them so i swapped back to the 163.75 i think it is and they work beautifully. best of any driver thus far. youll have to look for them though as they were a beta driver and are now hard to find

the higher the fps the lower chance of noticeably drop in FPS... i.e. less to no lag.

Why would you turn off shadows? I use shadows in game for picking out targets around corners and such if they dont show up on radar.

thanks I get about 150fps avg
inside rooms it climbs up to 280fps no BS
vegetation still hangs around 125 - 150 avg
i have vista hp
a dual core 2 e6600 oc'd 3.6ghz w.c.
married to a evfga 8800gtx acs
2gig ocz 4-4-4-12
I was playing all maxout with sync on
and it didnt pass 60fps
somtimes it went down to 33fps :-(

sry for this question I am sure somewhere It has been addressed already.. here i go.

I am trying to get the fps on my game but I have not being able.. I have had it on in COD2 .. but in COD4 i have not been successful I know i have to open console with ` then I type /cg_drawfps 1 and then what? ENTER or ESC? everytime I try it either doent get the fps thing out or it gets type for chat. I dont want to use fraps..

Any step by step mini guide?
