not sure what my issue is. in playing cod4 during air strikes i get massive fps dropps. down to almost single digits sometimes. i cant find the problem. here are my specs

cpu- core2quad 2.3 6600
mobo- asus p5n320-e sli
ram- 2 gig kinkgston ddr2
vid card- pny 7800gt
ps- 600watt antec
case- antec 900

help me please this is pissing me off

-Method-

There has been issues with the nvidia drivers a while(i think the tvout part)
Temp fix while waiting for 170 driver or so:

uninstal video driver.

reboot.

instal video driver.(i use 169,21)

don't touch any settings in the nvidia control panel after install to avoid the extreeme fps drop.

if a single display is used only change that to singel ,apply ,exit.

My fps is locked at 125 in any game if possible.
I get mostly 125 fps all on max(u know?4x,extra,extra) in cod4. I noticed some servers lock fps on serverside.

Edit:Noticed drop in the fps to 80 while lying in the the gras on full server.

I just had to jump in to tell the following to you who didnt know or you who do.
Anything above 125 F.P.S. is still considerd unfair cheating in games. (q/ut/bf/cs and rtcw and any other f**king game)
It has been like that the whole time ,some cheat whitout even knownig it and some knows it werry well.
Play fear ppls ,hang in there u get the skill whitout beeing unfair.

Or did this also change like it's no longer chikken to use unlock weppons?

Everything else as high as it goes*
*except for shadows

I've got a coupe things tweaked in my config_mp too.

Is there anywhere in COD4 where you can change the DX setting.. for example from Dx10 to Dx9? sry I havent been able to see where.
