I think it really depends. For any game, single player, I would very much rather use a controller. For example, I was playing Resident Evil 4 for the past few weeks on my PC, and I only used the controller when I had the option of using the keyboard/mouse.

However, if I am playing competitively online, then the keyboard and mouse are my weapons of choice. In that case I need to have everything accessible quickly and my MX518 ready to lock and load.

Mini-keyboard specifically for gaming. Has three modes, allowing each key to have three different functions.
Belkin has one too for $5 after MIR

Idk how good it is or anything; I just saw it yesterday.

Edit: oh CRAP! I double posted

The Nostromo N52 is what I used to have. Worked great for a few years, but then one of the keys stopped working, so I tossed it and got a G11. Good, but not the same. With the Nostromo you can quickly change from one mode to the next with just one key, while with the G15/11 you can't, each mode has it's own individual key.

That's a good deal on the N52, for $5 after rebate I'm tempted to grab another one, but I think I'd like the Saitek better.
