Project Torque - free racing MMO
I just came across this game while looking for a free mmo for someone. It looks pretty good, so I'll give it a download.

I just played the tutorial and did a few practice runs. The graphics are really good and has alot of tweaking options; it sort of looks like a lower quality version of DiRT. The controls are like a cross between a sim racer, and an arcade game, as it evidently uses drifting physics, and you can utilize manual/auto/semi-auto shifting, as well as a clutch (
 )There are only 4 cars to choose from when you start an account, so I'm assuming that the others are unlocked as you gain xp (there are a bunch of real car models, as well as made up cars for the game). So far, it's really fun, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quality, fun, free, good looking racing MMO  Edit - a few extras: The game has full and widescreen resolutions; you can use a gamepad; lets you do HRD, motion blur, particle effects, etc. There is even very detailed damage physics, such as smashed parts, paint scrapes, and the handling not responding well after you run into walls, poles, and other cars.

I installed this a while ago and it didn't work. There was something dodgy with the cameras, but I can't remember. Maybe they've fixed it. Well I guess I'll find out when it finished downloading.
