sometimes manual sometimes automatic.
depending on the car, I will also turn off Traction Control to make the car slide wider (i.e. if I'm hitting the inside corner, I will turn it off), but I leave the other two on (don't remember what they car, brakes and something else?)

I like this game, only gripe is the really crappy keyboard handling, only had the game for a few hours on the PC, had it since release date on XBOX 360, Im using the Microsoft 360 Wireless steering wheel (yes it works with the wireless dongle and yes it functions perfectly with a slight deadzone at centre)

so you love the game with the wheel, right?
not sure the quality of your wheel, but with my Logitech Nascar wheel (which is all-plastic) makes the game a lot better for normal races, but for drifting I use the keyboard to steer (because my drifting is more dependent on the pedals and I can't turn the wheel left-to-right really fast with the wheel, which I can with the left and right arrow keys )

I find the KB in this game to be too twitchy, its too easy to over cook a drift and end up in the wall or rolled over on your lid and it doesnt leave room for fine adjustment needed during long drifts (years of drift racing RC cars has left my fingers wanting more control).The open wheelers are alot of fun with this wheel. the wheel acts quickly once you get it set up right, and the game didnt even need to be told I was using the wheel it selected it automatically since the game is still geared towards the 360/controller and not the pc/keyboard.

ah yeah, well I'm a novice drifter and can't get the long drifts anyway
I had to go in and tell it to use custom controls, then I had to assign "Left" to "- X axis" and right to "+ X Axis", up and down to "+y" and "-y axis".

I'm used to the NFS games where the wheel would work in the menu, and I'm sad that I can't use the pedals for up/down and wheel as left/right, or the little directional pad for all four.

omg. I have to COMPLETELY agree that it is annoying. WHYYY can't we just customize those controls tooo! I always have to drop my PS3 controleler whenver im in the pause menu. and then usually end up messing up by repicking it up with a different angle and acceleration.


Side note: Add me in PS3 controller. Biggest combo: 2,000,000 X11. (Don't remmber the exact number. its in the 2,200,000 and some but meh.)
