I think it has to do with settings in NVCP - check that there aren't setting changes when switching video output types such as color filter properties

with newer cards, they actually don't process in lower resolutions as well. Where before it was a challange to render at 1280x1024, now its the other way around, the GPU is actually compressing harder to process at 640x480. From my understanding anyway. Makes sense that with newer technology, the new is based around the better rather then rendering at 1024x768

so if i get a DVI -> HDMI i won't be able to play at 1920x1080?
same TV here: 26" 1080i,i'm actually at 1360x768.

VGA 640x480? then my 1920x1200 is actually 640x480...
VGA can be cranked up really high. especially on low refresh monitors at 60Hz

VGA, S-Video, Component and Composite are all bandwidth limited. That is, you will be able to reach higher resolutions at lower refresh rates and vice versa.
There is no clear limit (because they're analog).
With Composite, Component and S-Video, the limit is usually 1440x1080 at 59.94 fields/s (and yes, they're sent as fields, not frames)
HDMI is 1920x1080, because that's the standard.

I might get a DVI to HDMI adapter and do it that way becasue the Componete cables make the Text really fuzzy and hard to read!
