Default Again with secuROM

i got windows vista as well as crysis warhead at the same time. and suddenly, my drive wont read ANY CD's, just DVD's. at first i thought it was just a compatibility issue with my os and my crappy old drive so i was all set to get a new one. but, i started hearing more and more about secuROM and how it f***s up disk drives and i was wondering, maybe its the secuROM on crysis doing this... can anyone verify this or tell me how to fix this?

+rep for all help

Well, you should try another drive to be sure it's not securom that's messing with it, or even use that drive on another system. I never had any issues with SecuRom protected software before. Since that drive old as you say, it might be dying.
