I have it turned all the way off. I really don't like the way it looks TBH.

I really didn't notice it at first. Then I saw it in the options menu and started asking people, in-game, what it was. After fiddling for a bit, I ended up setting it halfway between off and default. It kind of gives a more "movie" effect, and it decreases the "sharpness" of the picture IMO... but too much can be annoying (and take away detail, as you said).

Besides, games don't come first in my life, my life does, and most likely I wont have time to play it with just those 5 days. Oh well, I hope it's worth the wait.
I bought this game, and I totally agree with you and even made a rant thread about it.

You play demo's to know why you are buying the game normally. Valve should of released a beta like they did for pre ordering the orange box for tf2. The whole "get the demo early" thing was lame imo.

After buying this game and looking at it and such, It is defiantly a great game, at least an 8/10, but it should of been a 10/10 .... needs more campaigns, me and my friend beat them all on expert, and needs a more cs:s/tf2 look for searching for severs.. I don't like the way its setup now.

I think/heard that valve is going to come out with more stuff slowly for L4D just like they do with tf2 every couple of months. Is this true?

Oh, and I need more friends to play this game, lol. I wanna get a versus game going with people who aren't retarded.

Anyone pissed that there's no server browser as in, well, any other Valve game? Have no fear, apparently the creators realised how ridiculous this was and even left the server browser file there for us to use.

Go to the Steam folder and click your way to \Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\resource\UI\L4D360UI. There are two files named 'MainMenu.res' and 'mainmenu_serverbrowser.res'. Cut the MainMenu.res file out and store it somewhere else in case you want to go back for some reason, and rename the server browser file to MainMenu.res. Yay, server browser and favorites.

Good tip, thought I'm lazy and will probably go on just opening the console and typing "openserverbrowser" like I have been since the game came out...
