It is real though. First two areas are fully playable on Single Player Campaign. I just finished playing it, and it is awesome. It reminds me a whole lot of the Dawn of The Dead remake from 2004. There are even huge parking lots that are extremely similar to that film.

And this isn't piracy. If you think it's piracy then you're a moron. Valve released the Demo early to people who pre-purchased the full game.

It's not against the law to have it. It's not to be purchased anywhere, and therefore it's not illegal to download it.

Read what you just wrote the demo is released to the people who have pre purchased the game if you haven't bought the game your not supposed to have the demo. Send steam a email telling them you don't want to buy the game early but you want the demo now. I'm sure they will be more than happy to let you download it. If you can't understand that then your the moron.

everyone playing the demo legally has PAID to do so. i am playing the demo today because i PAID $45 yesterday to buy the full game. if you do not give money to Valve, then you cannot access the demo YET.

therefore it is not free! what is there to misunderstand?

It doesn't really even matter if it is on the torrent sites. It's hard to get those things to work online. L4D isn't like HL2. L4D is only good when you play it online.
