Thanks for the post. I tried your config, but I actually did worse with it (only tried in a pub). I think the brightness was the biggest problem for me. My config seems to be very similar... basically all the settings on low with a couple console commands to improve fps.

And lolz at the people calling you a hacker and being just out right rude.

the mod is cool for old computers but id prefer to enjoy it on full graphics, makes it a bit more realistic and hey better for it i guess

Playing for so long PROMOD you get so used to it , when you go back to Public, you get so stressed from the AIR STRIKES, Choppers etc. Its just so annoying lol.

In the COD games, FPS is more important than the amount of FPS you can visably see, the game runs alot smoother when locked to certain FPS's, 125, 250 and 333 for example all allow you to fire faster/consistantly. You can also run/jump faster/further with these FPS's.

I do however think configs are a step too far in some cases, I think certain commands such as r_drawdecal and should be allowed as all they do is remove the crap off the floor and walls and give no real advantage as pretty much everyone uses it in wars anyway, I don't however agree with commands such as r_lodscalerigid and the other lod command I forget as they allow players to see through certain objects at distance that players without said commands on cannot see through.

ProMod and capped FPS is all you need IMO as ProMod has removed most of the crap and has alot lower texture resolution etc.

I think people put too much emphasis on how much configs actually make, especially on promod/pam servers. I've tried many and always find myself reverting back to pretty much stock settings.
