Of all time?
Left 4 Dead Mass Effect Bioshock Gears of War Portal Team Fortress 2 Counter-Strike: Source/Counter-Strike 1.6 *Counter-Strike is not a good choice for those new to PC Gaming* Starcraft Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne Crysis/Crysis Warhead *Crysis Wars is Crysis Warhead's multiplayer and comes with Warhead* Fallout 3 World in Conflict Grand Theft Auto (Liberty City/San Andreas) Grand Theft Auto 4 Battlefield 2 Unreal Tournament 2004/Unreal Tournament 3 S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadows of Chrenobyl with Arsenal Mod and Oblivion Lost Mod *These mods are essential and the game is significantly worse without them* Dead Space Quake 3 F.E.A.R./F.E.A.R. Combat *F.E.A.R. multiplayer* free fearcombat.com Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, free Audiosurf Call of Duty 2/Call of Duty 4/Call of Duty 5 GRID Assassin's Creed Garry's Mod 10/Garry's Mod 9 - Source Engine Mod, free http://www.download.com/Half-Life-2-...-10353043.html Source Mods: Insurgency/Zombie Panic: Source/Fortress Forever/Hidden: Source/Source Forts *Free, Require Source Engine Game* Free Source Engine Games for NVIDIA: www.steampowered.com/nvidia Free Source Engine Games ATI: www.steampowered.com/ati_offer1a Half-Life/Half-Life 2/Half-Life 2:Episode 1/Half-Life 2:Episode 2 *I hate these but everyone else loves them so I list them* I'd say those are all great recent games although the list is certainly not complete.

Here are my votes, whatever you choose from that list (for the most part) should be pretty good.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Team Fortress 2 (played this alot once COD4 started getting old) Crysis Bioshock Crysis: Warhead

Depends on the type of game you like to play, for instance in relation to new games my 5 picks would be;
Red Alert 3 - RTS Fallout 3 - RPG COD:WaW - FPS GTA IV - a mix of action/adventure Portal - Puzzle It all depends on your preferences!

Left 4 Dead. Fun and really replayable. you'll learn the meaning of teamwork and find out just how the poor characters in those zombie movies feel.
The Orange Box. 5 games in one, and excellent value. I can't keep away from Team Fortress 2, lol. GTA IV. Come on. I haven't played it much yet but it looks awesome and apparently feels like a movie... it does have some glitches though as complained by some players on here. Fallout 3. can be a bit difficult to get into but i promise you if you do you will love it. the story is excellent and it feels extremely atmospheric. Bioshock. still stands as the best shooter i have played. i love the game so much - the story and the atmosphere... just awesome... Play this before you play Fallout 3 though. all are available on Steam if that rocks your socks. Games that get my honorable mention are: Call of Duty - World at War Call of Duty 4 Crysis Crysis Warhead Far Cry 2 to save you a bit of time and a bit of hassle, i would recommend getting the Valve Complete pack - $100 for every Valve game out ^^.

If you don't have WC3 and TFT...I'd say that's a good place to start.
