just got FEAR and its an epic game. very weird and quite scary haha, just wondering if anyone has had random crashes and havee been forced to restart your pc?

started happening ant interval 2 and continued into interval 3. not sure if its on ly at these levels but get annoyed so i just turned it off for now.

i have graphics maxxed out and 4Xaa and 16x AF. everything at absolute highest and runs very smoothly

what could be the problem?

have you applied the patch: http://www.softwarepatch.com/games/fear-game-patch.html

This fixed some issues for me. Well good game tho right? hehe

have you applied any of the patches? Maybe try turning the graphics down just to see if it might be a setting.

Does it just crash back to desktop?

Temps fine? Ran fine for me when I had the E6300 + 8600gt or 8800gt

well it sort of just freezes, i can't look around just stops on whatever is on the screen can't Ctrl, Alt + del out of it either.

only way out is restart.

I remember that there were issues with soft shadows and something else. They recommended to turn off soft shadow. If you go to the support site it explains this. I just forget what else it was.

Also, just installed this last night and am plating through it.

ok tahnks for the useful information. i have just been on the game to turn off this setting. I will test it out later on, anyone else have ideas?

It should work. There is some other information on the Activision site that may help also.

Back in the day, this would happen to me so I turned this off. You can also turn off AA (in game) and leave soft shadows on. that's what it was. Good luck hope you can finish one of my favorite games.

turn off AA? no way, the game will look really bad.
