*OFFICIAL* Borderlands Discussion Thread

I'm looking forward to this game, but I'm so not happy about the 'comic-book' look - i.e. cell-shading w/black borders around everything. I really hope there's some simple way to mod this game back to more like how it used to look, right out of the box.

This game looks very promising, like Fallout but with friends. VERY psyched to see the final product that we get. Love how the graphics are, the cell shading looks very appealing to me. It's different.

I'll just give an excerpt:

In this case, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchfords's obvious excitement at stumbling upon a gun that fires electric razorblades during a demonstration suggests that Borderlands really could deliver on its promise of spontaneous, procedurally generated gaming."

This Randy guy seems like a cool dude. Very much for the gamers it seems. Haven't heard of him before. Gonna have to keep my eye on other games he is in charge of.

Yeah, you can tell by the interviews that he's in that he really is extremely excited by Borderlands. It would take some great acting skills to fake his level of excitement. Check out the video below to see what I'm talking about.

Haha, yeah that's the link I posted earlier.

But yeah, I think he is right about the game not getting enough spotlight. Some major titles coming out soon and those on a budget might pass this up. I sure wont be.

I agree. I'm really afraid of Alpha Protocol being forgotten about. But it just came up on Steam for pre order and it's on the top seller list, so hopefully it will at the very least be a sleeper hit.

Just looked up AP. It has my interest. Last time I saw anything about this game was maybe 6 months ago. Thought it was an mmo so I shrugged it off.
