The text book idea is when they open the door (have a text book open in front of you, or very near you) then when they come in, grab the text book and turn off the monitor.

Edit: he just admitted that this is for watching porn... or did he do that on page 2? I didn't read that page

sounds good, but how's the application going to close when the mointor's off? or are you saying reset the computer, and wait till windows loads, and in that time use a textbook.

another thing, would my parents be suspicious that the monitor's off?

I think it's porn... and the basic idea is:
1. Hear footsteps coming to your room
2. Turn off monitor quickly
3. Open textbook and pretend you're studying.

I think the person that suggested it meant to just have the textbook handy and take it out when someone comes in, but... I must be missing something too because that doesn't really address the issue.

I find it surprising that AltF4 isn't fast enough. Since you're running Vista, maybe you can just do CtrlAltDel and get to the log-in screen, make it seem like you were just booting up?

Have an abit board that isn't working anymore and are sad that you can't RMA it? Dont' be sad, abit is still honoring RMAs! I know, I know, I was surprised too!

Anyways, try taskbar hide, it hides everything you set it to hide, and you need a special key combination to unhide it.
