How does one gain rank in the alliance? We go by the game`s native ranking system?

Depends on what research you are on right now.

I figure you might want to be able to build cruisers asap If you are a FLEETER(you farm enemy planets for ressources) so for that you need:

Shipyard (level 5)
Impulse Drive (level 4)
Ion Technology (level 2)

Asside from that, the Battleship looks like its the most cost effective weapon at our level. for that you need:

Shipyard (level 7)
Hyperspace Drive (level 4)

So ust look up the prerequisite for each level on the Technology page and proceed from there.

I put everything on hold because i want nanite technology, i have robotics at level 10 but my Computer technology still at level 8. Nanite technology halves your production speed on everything which is COOL! (research speed not included)

Ya I was reading up on that nanite technology which sounds cool as hell. but I am in dire need for resources. Im running broke and each night it just runs and makes resources. but I can get 2x the amount I make overnight in a good amount of time.

So yes, buff up your fleed a bit and find some good farming targets, and raid them every once in a while. KEEP IN MIND that you can only get 50% of a planets ressources in each run, so dont commit too many cargo ships than you need.

You will need computer technology, because each level gives you an EXTRA fleet spot. Very usefull for sending multiple spy probes to different targets and attacking 4 or 5 planets at the same time (efficiency)

URGENT QUESTION:

What happens to a moon if its planet is abandoned?

You guys are so lucky your on the 5x Uni ... mine is so slow ...
