I posted a solution in another thread of mine, but I wanted to change the title so people searching on google could find this.
If you're having trouble modding your copy of Morrowind that you bought off Steam, here's the solution. Mods are loaded by their date of creation and modification. The Steam copy's files are all set in 2009. This means that all of your mods will load up, but then Morrowind's basic vanilla files will overwrite them! Here's the solution: Download and run this: http://download.cnet.com/FileDate-Ch...html?tag=mncol Now, click Add Files, and navigate to where your Morrowind files are. If you bought off Steam, Morrowind would be here: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\morrowind\Data Files\Morrowind.bsa Set Morrowind.bsa created date, modified date, and accessed date all to 5/1/2002 Now, click Clear, and go to Add Files again, renavigate to where you were before, but instead of selecting Morrowind.bsa, select Tribunal.bsa Set Tribunal.bsa created date, modified date, and accessed date all to 11/6/2002 Now, click Clear, and go to Add Files again, renavigate to where you were before, but instead of selecting Tribunal.bsa, select Bloodmoon.bsa Set Bloonmoon.bsa created date, modified date, and accessed date all to 6/3/2003 Now you're ready to go! You can mod away, and it will act just like the CD copy of Morrowind. There is one known issue, and it's with the Unnoficial Morrowind Code Patch. This does not work with the Steam versions encrypted .exe. Valve has been contacted, and you can expect to see a resolution in the next month or so. In the meantime, don't install the Unofficial Morrowind Code Patch or Tamriel Rebuilt. NOTE: If you're on a 64 bit operating system, change /Program Files/ to /Program Files (x86)/ I really recommend taking a look at this site to bring your copy of Morrowind into 2009. It includes the best of user mods, including graphical enhancements: http://morrowind2009.wordpress.com/ This guide is also essential to optimizing the Morrowind engine for modern computers: http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/31...de/index5.html On the advanced tweaking, it mentions cell buffers. I currently have my Interior and Exterior Cell Buffers set to 512 and 1024, respectively. I have 4GB of RAM.

The file changer you reccomended won't keep the files changed. I go to play the game, and the errors continue because the .bsa files are STILL on september 2009. Any other file changer suggestions? One that WORKS, perhaps?
EDIT: appologize for how rude that was. I'm just frustrated with the Steam version. Again, I'm sorry. Last edited by MalkavianFalcon : 09-14-09 at 01:56 AM |

I think you may have forgotten to click Change Files Date. Try changing the dates again. If that doesn't work, tell me what the error messages say.
