Just recently I have been getting this problem. Whenever I tab out of WoW it takes atleast 1-2 minutes to tab back in. This is a major problem because I frequently tab out to browse forums and look up quests on wowhead.

It happens to everyone. Just get Quest Helper or a similar addon.

Could be some type of bios or driver problem slowing things down.

You can dump quest helper and get carbonite, its 100x better than QH.

Windowed mode makes alt-tabbing a breeze. However, it seems really choppy >_< is there anyway to fix that?

I'm not sure, but the choppiness with windows mode happens to me as well. If you are too annoyed by it, I would just run fullscreen, and download Xfire. Xfire has an in-game web browser. It really solves that problem you get when you alt-tab.
