but crossfire is a cheap and viable option. I'd rather spend $130 on another card for crossfire than buy a GTX 285 for $200 more, and less performance...

I'd just like to say that I seem to have fixed my problems with the driver error.
I did a complete reformat on my main HD, took about an hour so no big deal.

Game seems to run great now, and my gtx 9800+ started getting 18ish fps@

Still this wasn't enough for me, so I went out and got an evga gtx 260 core 216, overclocked to 690/1488/1188 with my old 9800gtx+ doing Cuda Physx and I'm now getting 20ish fps@

Not bad, but next on my list is another gtx 260 for SLI, and I'll probably sell the 9800gtx+, it doesn't seem to help much as a dedicated physx card except in physics benchmarks anyhow. (ex: 3dmark vantage fourth test)

I just want to say thanks to everybody who has been helping me out!

If you have another 260 for SLI you should be rocking that game @ 1680 * 1050 with 4x AA

Crysis does not make ANY use of PhysX, so you shouldn't see ANY fps boost with that ^^

And as far as I know the 260 is just the rebrand of the 9800gtx+, no way to SLI that?

(and don't use more then 4xAA, if you put it at more you just bring your framerate down without seeing a difference, or nearly without..)

The gtx250 is the rebrand of the 9800gtx+

But im not sling the gtx 9800+ and the gtx-260, just using the 9800 as a physx card.

But like you said, doesn't seem to help much anyways=p

So yeah, ill definitely be going for another 260 core 216.

With my sig rig i get 35-40 fps in crysis everything enthusiast and no AA 1680/1050. with 4/aa i get 28-30 usually stay their during combat

Crysis uses CRYengine physics, NOT PhysX.

In my OP i said that I was getting 1-2 fps with a 9800gtx+, with NO AA. Isn't that a legitimate concern? Or did you along with some others read the title, skim the post, and proceed to flame?

Just FYI with my sigrig i run crysis maxed out with no AA perfectly fun i can run up to 4xAA with it being perfectly playable (read: 30fps+) I don't really see why everyone is claiming you need a redic setup to max out the game. Yes you need one to max out AA but not the normal game settings itself.
