Turn the AA off. I think your VRAM is overloaded.

You can see my rig in my sig adn I can run everythign on high but with my gpu, I can not run any AA at all. The 9800's are just not ment to run this game without being in SLI. Everything else is good on your system except your gpu. Why would you build a killer system and skimp on the GPU?

Sorry man, just not happening with a 9800 GTX+. I had the 9800 GTX+ a few months ago, and could barely pull 30fps @ 1280x1024 / Enthusiast / AA off. So, go figure..

Anyways my computer runs Crysis like absolute and utter CRAP. The only time I get decent fps (30ish) is when I run my computer at 800x600 resolution.

When I push it up to 1680x1050 (my screen's native resolution) my fps goes to 1 or 2, and even alt tabbed out my computer lags so hard I cant even navigate windows.

I tried running Crysis with my bios set to stock, I tried it overclocked, and I tried fiddling around with the in game settings, but the higher in resolution I go the worse it runs.

I just want to be able to run this game at full quality. I would think my computer would be able to at least handle Crysis at
1680x1050
2xAA
All advanced settings set to Enthusiast

My drivers are the lastest nvidia 186.18
What gives?
The problem is your mid-range gpu. You can't max out Crysis Warhead with a 9800GTX+.

Ok I understand that the 9800gtx+ isnt the best card, but it still doesnt explain why my computer lags so damn hard when I alt tab out. I mean its so bad I cant even open up firefox, or drag any windows around without massive stutter. Its like my windows is running at 1 fps as well.

Checking my cores, its barely breaking a sweat at about 10 or 15% usage. What do you guys think? I'm going to try running it at gamer and no aa and see what happens.

Why?

Because it's Crysis. It will torment your rig.

i7BigRig you expected to get decent frames with 2xAA and all Enthusiast?

even my single GTX260 had a hard time with Enthusiast and 2xAA and I mean like dipping into the real low 20s FPS, hell look at this bench with a single GTX

set em all to gamer and take AA off, see if that helps. As to the PC lagging, no clue.

Yeah but i was dipping into the 1s and 2s. lol

I have no clue about the PC lagging either. I mean honestly should an i7 really lag when crysis is running in the background???

Anyways I was running it at the settings you guys prescribed and crysis keeps freezing, then a window pops up saying

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, but has succesfully recovered.

Looks like somewhere my drivers are farked...
