Check your temps. When you get regular "display driver not working" errors, your GPU could be overheating and throttling.

Reinstall the drivers first.

Change all settings to GAMER, take off the AA and set the res to 1680 * 1050.

If that don't work then lower the details some more.

Ignore everyone that says you should be maxxing this game at 1680 because you can't.

Seems your overclocked cpu/nb/mem maybe causing issues, also could be that your card is getting too hot as others have said.
Are you having the same problems still?

Take off the AA, turn the settings down a bit, and you might see something a little more reasonable, but AA + enthusiast settings is just far to taxing for any single GPU solution. Crysis with AA just devours VRAM, so 512mb just won't cut it here.

Edit: Why does everybody feel the need to ridicule this guy? He came in asking a simple question, and it should've warranted a simple, civil answer.

Also why don't you put everything at stock , cpu+gpu?
Stock is always better IMO.

Look, drop the AA and set at all gamer. If you still have issues, report back.

Drivers were reinstalled, cleaned with driversweeper in safe mode.
Set rivatuner to 100% fanspeed at all times, monitored gpu at 55c

Loaded up crysis at 1680x1050 All gamer NO AA.

Game crashed again with the same windows popup saying display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, but has succesfully recovered.

Ugh this is killing me, next I'm going to try and run it with default bios settings. Will report back

I am unable to run Vantage with these drivers. So there might be somthing here. Try a 182 driver.

Force DX9 mode, turn vsync off, set the ingame settings to gamer, resolution to 1680x1050, update drivers to the newest. If all that fails, install Windows XP or Windows 7.

EDIT: Try setting all your overclocks to their stock settings, and see what happens. IF THIS fails, you should reinstall Vista, or install XP or 7.
