No. Just no.... If he is having issue's, it NOT the OS. If it was, then others would be having issues with the same card and OS, and noone is. You can run Crysis in DX9 in Vista if your heart desires better FPS.

Now that being said, if he tries all available options a fresh OS instal may help. But a different OS is just ridiculous.

Well this is absolutely ridiculous.

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=25381

115+ pages of people having the same problem as me with no hard solution in sight.

Freaking awesome.

Edit: I guess im grateful its not as bad as some people where nvlddmkm stops working every 15 seconds, and mine only occurs in Crysis... but still... this is so freaking lame it makes me almost want to switch to ATI

Any recommendations? I was planning to get 2x gtx-260s but it seems the nvlddmkm issue can also occur on the gtx-2xx series as well...

Ok, calm down. LOOK at the start date on that thread. It's a few years old guy. Yes, lot's of people have issue's with this, myself included. Try a different driver for pete's sake. Wait maybe you should go ATI. One less whiner for the green side.

since your board can do crossfire. give 4870 or 4890 a try. If I'm not mistaken x58 boards can do both.

People have a hard time running this game at full with crossfire/sli and tri-fire/3 way sli.
I run Crysis on high. Do you have the game?
