Games that make no pretenses to realism or plausibility? Normal, working my way up later.

Games that are supposed to have significant realistic/plausible elements? The most realistic difficulty setting. Usually also the hardest. I've never played Deus Ex or STALKER at anything but the hardest settings.

For games based on a PP rule set (usually not shooters)? Whatever setting matches those rules most closely.

On most games I would normally start on medium and then if I find it to easy, increase the difficulty during game or start again on a higher difficulty.

Normally I start on hard if I know what to expect from a game. But if its a completely new experience from a new game I normally start at one setting above default for a bit of a challenge and then change it from there.

If it's an RPG or RTS, I'll play on normal and work my way up.
Anything else, Hardest settings possible.

Same here. I like the game mainly for the graphics and I feel better pwning i guess on easy than loosing on hard. I buy a game to beat it, Not for it to beat me

I play multiplayer so I can get some real skins under my belt and ear necklaces.. Bots dont scalp too well. Sometimes we go for beaks and toes but we trade those for drinks at the bar...
