Default Problem playing any PC game :(
A while back I ordered a GTX 285 black edition from XFX, upon arrival it didnt work properly so I got it replaced with a new one which has been working fine till now.

My problem is whenever I try to open a game it freezes at the first screen that loads up and locks my computer. Now Im not really sure what the problem is so I didnt really know where to post this. Can anyone help me?

which driver version are you using and have you tried reinstalling them? which games cause freezing?

My drives are up to date with the latest.

Games I've tried are Aion(beta), Crysis(1/2) and GTA4.

Another problem could be your PSU. What is the overall wattage and what is the amperage on the +12v rails?

My PSU is 730W and it says +12V-24.0A

Could you please give us your full system specs, it may very well be the PSU not providing enough wattage/amperage to the GPU.

set the bios to factory to see if maybe your overclock is causing this
