I've been reading around on how to get it working, and have seen people mentioning the addition of -winxp into the startup, and renaming the program to crysis.exe... but these seem to only apply to the non-steam version. How do I make it work in the steam version?

Right click on it in Steam games list, go to properties, and click on "Set Launch Options". Add "-winxp" there and see if that works.

Just tired it. Ended up actually lowering my FPS... from 20avg to 16avg in the benchmark And still no crossfire. I was really looking forward to this game too... ty for the help though +rep

Yeah, I looked that over but have no clue how it translates to the steam demo version...

Right click it in games list and see if you can select the "create Desktop icon". Then do whatever you want to the icon.

I'm thinking you already tried that and it doesn't work with demos or something like that, but that's all I can think of right now.

Not sure myself. Couldn't get the demo to work with CF, but Hopefully by tomm. I can let you know if it works for the full Steam version.

I went through the same thing when I first got the demo, drives me crazy. But I did get so I have avg. 25-30fps by reducing AA to 4x I think it is, either that or off I'll have to check later.

That would be much appreciated! I was just going to wait until the 7th to pick up a retail copy... but if people can get it working on steam, I might just pick it up on steam within the next day or two

Well, I can't seem to get CF working period for it on the steam version. Tried going through Steams launch properties and a stand alone desktop icon.

I have to take AA and Ani off to get decent fps. at 25-30 fps avg with all high and 1920x1200, but like I said no AA or Ani.

May be best to pick up retail copy maybe.

I tried to get the fixes to work in the steam version of the demo, it didn't raise FPS. It just lowered it just as you. I suggest you pick up the boxed version as it's more easier to tweak.
