Default Are racing games better with a controller?

After playing through Race Pro for X360, have really got hold of the controller mechanics for racing games(which i hated till now ) and just installed Colin McRae Dirt in my PC and KB controls just felt a bit.........UNNATURAL

So, what do u guys say, will buying an X360 controller for PC provide better experience to the above said and similar games like GRID etc, or is KB the better alternative?

PS: Plz dont suggest buying the above games for consoles as I wanna play these at full glory, and have a decent PC capable of that.

You're looking for a wheel/pedals then. I hate racing games with the controller. A button for gas/brake doesn't get the job done for me.

with keyboard you don't get "realistic" throttle controls like the controller.

with the controller you also are able to keep the car turning at a certain angle with the analog sticks.

I would go with the controller or an actually racing wheel.

@Jason, its not really a button for gas and braking, its pressure sensitive, so basically it is a pedal in your hand.
