Mine is really unstable. The game is unstable on all of my machines though. Even Bethesda says that the gamebryo engine was a mis-informed choice. It wasn't developed by Bethesda. I think. I know its been used in other games however.

Yea, freezes up randomly for me although it seems to only do it once every 4 hours or so which isnt too much of an annoyance. Still a great game though

Have you thoroughly stress tested to be sure those settings are stable?

Any mods installed? Anything running in the background that could cause issues? Tried reinstalling the game?

Bethesda has been using GameBryo for more than 7 years. Morrowind and Oblivion used it. Yeah, all of these games were pretty buggy, on release. However, most people don't have issues with the patched games.

It's also not fair to blame instabilities caused by mods on the game itself.

Try a reinstall. My un-legit copy crashed -CONSTANTLY- until I reinstalled. After that very few, although some crashes. Updated to the 1.6 patch (before installing DLC) and now its rock solid <3

No mods i just installed the game last night.

My cpu is stable at 3.6 its stable at 3.7 but get s hot I've tested it for 24 hours using AOD test and I run it 24/7 atleast 3.6
I'm going to try reinstalling the game if that doesn't work I'll try dx10 reinstall maybe. I had a few errors in my event log about dx 10.

Ok This is getting bad I'm still getting tons of freezes and i've done everything anyone has said to fix this. I have no pagefile, I updated the game, I changed some of the default .ini file, tried windows mode, turned the graphix down. Somethign i did made them maybe 50% better but it still crashes at least every 20 mins. Anyone have any ideas befor i uninstall and forget about the game... I'd love to play it it seems awesome but I like my g-15 and I'd like to keep it (if you catch my drift)

welcome to the club
fallout 3 was voted buggiest game of the year.
in my advice run it in compatibility mode with xp, disable desktop composition and themes, and run it as admin.
also, i noticed that fallout 3 was one of the few games that had an effect on a not 100% stable GPU overclock. make sure that is stable. if you are a modder make sure that any new mods are appropriately applied and removed. i have also heard cases of vsync causing problems so you could mess around with that. any background programs have an affect on it.
i saw that you bought it from steam, make sure the steam is able to interact with the desktop.
thats about all i can think of that can help with any fallout 3 crash problems.
hope this helps
