Default The Orange Box on Steam
I already own Half-Life 2 (no Episodes) and Team Fortress 2, and want Episodes 1 and 2, but I'm curious what would happen if I just bought The Orange Box.

Would the extra copies of HL2 and TF2 just disappear or would I be able to gift them to someone?

you get what is called gift copies that you can send to friends

You can only gift extra copies of HL2 and HL2:EP1. Episode 2 and TF2 dont count.

Edit: At least they didn't when I bought it for a friend.

Correct, you will not get an extra copy of TF2. There's a question in the support section on steampowered that says the only games that do that are HL2 and the episodes if anybody wants to verify.
