This whole thing has reeked of vaporware to me since I first heard of it.
Also brought up memories of the Sega Channel.

Well, I have NO latency since I'm on Fiber, but I don't see this catching on at all until everyone is on fiber, and they would need cloud computing centers in every major city to make this work.

They could download Genesis Games through their TV's in 1994 ... Just wow ... This is like when they introduced spaceships and radio in WoW ... Also I think that for myself, from the standpont of hardcore gamer input lag would not be acceptible, however to a casual Joe Schmoe, i.e. typical x360 user, who has no idea about technology and only plays dumb console games, such lag may not matter if it's not excessive, thusly making such devise plausible. From the purely theoretical standpoint of view, if we stipulate, that, in a distant future we all have unlimited 100GB/s internet, then such device only means that they rent out their PC to several users, cos people need to sleep, go to eat food, go to movies, etc., and at that time they don't use their PC's, which means that someone on the other end of the world can use them, so people don't have to pay for entire cost of their PC's thusly achieving the economies of scale. Essentially it means that people can buy crap PC then pay, for instance $100 a year subscription and be able to play Crysis on Very High with 60 fps any time they want with no input lag whatsoever, then that would be a plausible business model.

I don't see it happening, but it wouldn't be my first time being wrong. It looks interesting, but I just don't see some kind of back-end rendering tons of games simultaneously, compressing, and transmitting in a short enough time where you won't notice severe latency.
Maybe something revolutionary will happen, but the way things are currently done, I just don't see it as possible.

I love the way that everyone says "In the Future when we all have 100Mbs" lines it might work" In the future are we also going to want to play games with 10 or 15 yr old graphics? or maybe just maybe the games we play might require more bandwidth too ...............
