Default How to:Increase TF2 Network Performance

This will be a guide on how to increase your network performance (lower ping) in TF2 for free

To start open up the console in TF2 by pressing `/~. (You have to enable developer console in settings)

Then copy/paste these commands into the console.

rate 30000 "Increase the max bytes per second the host can send"
cl_updaterate 100 "Increase the number of packets per second you are requesting from the server"
cl_cmdrate 101 "Increase the max number of command packets sent to server per second"

Also you could Port Forward your router to help reduce ping. For TF2 forward 27011, for CS:S forward 27015 and for DoD:S forward 27016.

..::SOURCES::..
Command List
A Guide
Port Forward
OCN (For being AWESOME)
Google (For helping me search)
TF2 (Helping me test these settings out.)

If you have any other tweaks feel free to PM me!

Never use those, it will destroy your registry in CSS.

Doesn't seem to work on the OCN server anymore for some reason.

The default is 25000,67,67 btw. Never, ever set the cmd and update rates to 30.

the rates you use depend on the server.

Basically, higher tic servers need higher rates. those highest rates you first stated are used in 100tic servers. Personally, I don't play in anything less than 100tic if I don't have too, for registry's sake. If you use lower rates than what is needed for a server, you will be really choppy.

That is why I made this guide for the highest tic, so it can lower the cmd/update if needed.

I'll edit those 10000/20/30 settings out once I can.
(I'm on my iPod Touch right now.)
