He could use a VPN provider and tunnel his internet traffic from a legit american IP. http://www.purevpn.com/ Pure vpn has a package where you can rent their servers by the hour. 10 hours for $2.50. I've used these guys before to bypass my ISP's occasional p2p bandwidth throttling during primetime hours. Because all the data is encrypted in a VPN tunnel the ISPs can't packet sniff or see any data.

If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

Is it by the IP address or by the credit card localization and address??

I.e. If I have a U.S issued credit card and enter a U.S address when purchasing, wouldn't it supply me with the un-edited version?
OR..... couldn't you use a U.S proxy?

Just a thought

YES!!!

haha.

i asked Steam a direct question. i pretty much said "is Left4Dead 2 on Steam the edited aussie version, and if we purchase a version from another country and import it, will it work?"

this is my response from them.

Quote:
Hello, A staff member has replied to your question:

Hello Rob, Thank you for contacting Steam Support. The version of the game is only dependent on the territory it was purchased in. Users who purchase a game from a different territory will receive the content included in that territory's version of the game.
pretty discrete but i know exactly what they are trying to say.

problem solved boys. you want full version of L4D2, either get someone from the US to gift it to you, or just import it from Play-Asia or something. problem solved

so i just need one honest person to help me out. basically i'll transfer the money to you via Paypal or however we can arrange it, then you gift the game to me and the other 2 Steam accounts that belong to my mates.

much appreciated for the help, you have to consider that im putting a lot of trust in whoever steps up, so please be honest.
same here man i got so pissed off when my VPN ip did nothing so i feel that if i can gain some assistance in getting the uncensored version, it would be much appreciated
