The selection is very limited on a Celeron. If you like FPS maybe the original DOOM I and II, Quake I, II and III, Diablo I (as mentioned already) and II, StarCraft, WarCraft I and II, Red Alert 2, Sim City 3000, possibly Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (free) on low settings. Those are some of my favorite old games. Also Ceasar III, Roller Coaster Typoon series, Myst and Riven.

That's a pretty good list for something that is "limited".

braid seems interesting tbh.

Also not a huge fan of emulators, tried them many times in the past and have ended up deleting them on all occasions

Age of Wonders is still one of my favorite games. It also required pretty much no resources or hardware. Very fun.
