Dead, basically. There's a tight-knitten "montage kid" group that I try to play with. Gameplay can be wacky/fun, or super srs and fun at the same time.

Lagwise, it's great if you're on a proper dedicated server, I myself have DSL and when I got on a dedicated server, it was almost perfect.

There are a few hackers, but nothing serious. The game is pretty much dead, after all.

Don't have a price range for the GPU. It's probably going to be under $90, regardless of choice.

It's not going to be soon, Black Friday at the soonest, next year at the latest.

Also, two 512MB modules, two 1GB modules.

8series up to the 8800s and the9 series up to the 9600s are all REALLY REALLY weak for gaming.

This would be a much better choice, but it's out of stock:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121320

I'd also recommend a 4670, or 4650 GDDR3(downclocked 4670). However, anything he gets is going to be bottlenecked by the old P4. The 9600GSO might push things power-wise, but the 4650 or 4670 should be just fine.
