Seriously.

It's very likely that you've read Arstechnica's latest article by now (http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2...ou-thought.ars).

How can a company like IW turn their backs on the PC like this? PC gamers made them, and now this is how they pay us back.

They put forward lame excuses like "we want a similar experience on all systems"... guess what, you damned freaks? The PC isn't like other systems. The PC is the very core of gaming. There's a whole hardware industry revolving around gaming. It's where real gamers can be found. Real and dedicated gamers.

I'm pretty sure IW will pay for what they are doing. I hope the PC version of the game tanks and gets buried deep in hell.

Of course the console versions will sell like hotcakes, but still... they will feel the hit.

Then they'll have an excuse to just not make a PC version. It's pretty obvious they're probing for the limit of PC gamer's patience and trying to get as much money as possible. The IWnet thing is to add better anti-piracy, add that with the $60 price point and you'll see it's all about turning a larger profit off PC gamers. Problem for them is, they've crossed the point of no return with us. I think they'll either flop and add dedicated servers, or MW2 PC will flop and they can make the point that PC gamers are the hardest crowd to please, and turn the smallest profit, and decrease sales on consoles slightly because pirates download the PC version rather than buy the console version, and as a result the PC version should get canned as it makes little to no money.

We'll have to wait and see, it's IW's move. IMO they'll either try to make amends with PC gamers or go console-exclusive for following titles. There is no middle road.

Maybe, if all the people who signed the petition bought the game instead of torrenting and playing on dedicated servers like with MW, then maybe MW3 would have dedicated servers again.

But if we boycott them then they will just forget us because we are not the largest audience of the game.

We feel like we are making a stand, but all we are doing is confirming their idea the pc gamers are no longer their target audience. So, next time they are going to care about the pc gamers even more. We are just shooting ourselves in the foot.

If you want dedicated servers on MW3, but MW2 for PC.

Amen to OP, right on man, PC is the lifeblood of all that is gaming and mw2 can suck it when they find out we don't care one bit for the ignorance they clearly posses towards us as a target market.

No, they'll think our petition failed and that they can get away with selling whatever BS they want to us for $10 more than a normal PC game. Why would I buy a product I don't want at all in hopes that they will do something to make me want their next product? That's retarded. If I wanted a console experience, I would buy a console.

Who knows, maybe I'm so disgusted that Infinity Ward would even think of doing this that I never want to see another PC game developed by them ever again?

At the end of the day, its fine with me though. I won't buy Modern Warfare 2 and the beta for Bad Company 2 will be out in December. Don't get me wrong, i hate IW right now, but we were not a huge part of their sales last time. How many of the people who signed the petition actually bought the game last time oppose to torrented it?

I'm sorry but I'm not so sure this is going to work as much as we all, me included, hope it will.

I had no problem buying COD4, but I'm not buying this. I would possibly think about it if we were able to re-sell it, but it's tied to Steam so that is out of the question. That, couple with no demo, means I have zero interest in this game. If IW pulls out of developing for the PC if/when MW2 flops, it will be because they don't want to be there in the first place, not because we refused to buy MW2.

They've already said that they would rather develop for consoles, and the only reason they're still on the PC is because Activision told them to do it.

it won't flop. You can hope all you want, whether you agree or disagree, but MW2 is a pretty fantastic game.
