DISCLAIMER: This is my first guide, keep that in mind while flaming
DISCLAIMER 2: This is a Fortress Forever guide, not a TF2 guide. However, the games are similar, and you could probably apply some of the tactics to TF2. Let's begin, shall we? For my first ever guide, I will be showing how to improve your playing skill with my favorite class, the Pyro. WEAPONS: The Main Weapon for the pyro is the flamethrower, while it has very poor range, due to it's splash damage you can set everyone in the room on fire with random spraying. The secondary Weapon is the Incendiary Cannon, which fires exploding balls of fire. It's best suited for attacking from long range or taking out pesky snipers. Thirdly, aside from the generic shotgun and crowbar, the pyro posses extremely deadly napalm grenades. OVERVIEW: The Pyro is best used as an "all-around" class. They can hang out protecting the flag, or rush in and cause chaos and confusion. Let's hear more about that, shall we? C&C: C&C is what the pyro does best. While it may be weak on it's own, it's very hard to think straight while on fire. If you run into a room torching everything with a flamethrower, the enemy can't see correctly, and can't see you because they're engulfed in flame. One of the main strategies is the Launch and Burn. You switch to your Incendiary Cannon, set the target on fire from long range, then close in in the confusion, and set them on fire with the Flamethrower, doing multiplied damage. Without exception, the pyro is best at taking out a room full of enemies with a combo of his flamethrower and C&C. DEFENSE: A Pyro in the right hands can easily keep a flag locked down. By using the flamethrower to slow down and damage an incoming attack, you give your team enough time to lay down sentry guns, pipebombs, or charge their sniper shot. Switching between the Flamthrower and the cannon is a must, as multiplied damage is always better. And remember that fire spreads, keep people bottlenecked, and the scouts won't have time to stop from running into a flaming Heavy Weapons Guy. OFFENSE: The pyro possesses a unique ability: the ability to hover. Aim a jet of flame at your feet while jumping to start hovering. It can also be a life-saver while jumping off high ledges to avoid enemy spies trying to stab you, fire it on the way down to slow your descent. Don't forget to leave a few napalm grenades as a bon voyage present, though. Another plus is that pyro's are largely ignored by snipers in a large battle. While the sniper is trying to decap the HWG,it gives you enough time to slip in to the building, fry the unfortunate soldier guarding the sniper, sneak up undetected and turn him into little pile of ash on the floor. IN CLOSING: The Pyro is one of the most overlooked and most deadly classes in the game. Use him for defense, use him for offense, use him for whatever you like. But remember, there are two things Pyro's don't like: open spaces and water. Feel free to use this however you like, but don't forget to give me credit, or I'll command Cthulu to eat you in your sleep. ![]() PHP Code: PHP Code:

The shortest advice i could give with the pyro is to learn how to aim the arch of the incendiary cannon.
I wonder how many people on OCN play FF... Funny story, i was on their development team for a little while. great game, too bad its not popular.

I was going to ridicule you for calling it an "incendiary cannon", and then I realized you weren't talking about TF2
![]() I never read disclaimers. I see them and go, "yeah that's not important".

Yes, disclaimers are often important.
