Will Ghostbusters work with the 64-bit version of Windows 7? I mean, were you able to install it and play it without any problems Windows 7 x64?
I am only asking because I recently purchased and downloaded it from Direct2Drive.com, but it wouldn't install. It provided an error message saying that it's not compatible and that I should check to see whether I need the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the program. So, I recently purchased it from Best Buy and I don't want to open it until I know it will work based on somebody else saying that it worked for them in 64-bit Windows 7. That silly experience has made me overly cautious.

Yup, TC, I can confirm that I have the retail version of Ghostbusters installed and working perfectly in se7en 64-bit
![]() I seem to remember having some sort of hassle with getting it installed and working right though, there was some kind of problem ... but it was months ago now, I forget what it was or if it had to do with 64-bit or not. For sure whatever I needed to do I found via googling and it was nothing terribly complicated, and once I did it, the game worked perfect. Edit: just did some googling, and it jarred my memory. The issue had to do with trying to install to a directory other than the default c:\program files directory, and it's not to do with 64-bit. As long as you just want to (or can deal with) install there, you should be golden. Otherwise it's a spot of a hassle, but still do-able. In fact, it *might* be what the problem is that you're having now with the d2d install ... not sure at all, but you might look into it. Could just be one of those 'deceptive error message' things ...

Nah, it turns out that it doesn't matter where the installer is located (but I know you're referring to choosing a different place to install it other than the default directory). Every time I try to install it, I get this:
![]() So, I figured that I would just buy the physical copy, bring it home, open it and install it without any problems (after all, I have a friend who installed it in 7 x64 build 7100 with no problems). But when it came time to taking the wrapper off, my conscience got the better of me and was like, "what if you can't install this one either? Once it's opened, you can't return it". But now I have some confidence that I can open it. lol
