Default CoD:WaW won't install :(

I bought Call of Duty: World at War from a member of this site a while back, he said that the game included the serial and the working disk.

Anyways I originally used a torrent while the game was being shipped, and I know that the serial works. Now I just reformatted, and the disk isn't working.

It seems to be in fine physical condition, and I've cleaned it several times, but everytime it goes through the setup, it gets stuck at the same place, extracting iwd_18.iwd from the disk, which is a set of about 55 files(looked it up) anyways it did the same thing before and after reformat, it just brings up a thing that says retry.

So yeah, is there anyway to get it to work, or any good way to clean it?

Thanks.

Can you not see if a friend has a copy and install it, then use your serial key. To be honest I had this problem with an old Fifa game and serached for ages for a fix to no luck. Also if you have an external hard drive try installing to that see if that lets you.

Update: Still not working, tried to extract files to desktop but the whole data folder didn't copy for some reason. Anyways by morning I'll have a disk image downloaded, so no biggie.

Thanks for the help anyways guys.

And it doesn't work in Steam.
