Default Burnout Paradise is crashing when trying to change sound Options

I keep crushing when i try to change sound options anyone knows why?

i got the game today with 5 other games

First off, good work on the purchase, Burnout Paradise ROCKS!!!!

Also, why do you need to change the sound options? I don't think I've ever touched them!
Burnout Paradise uses DirectX like the rest of them, so if your other games work, you could try another sound card driver, but that's about all I can think of? Worth pointing out that some x64 drivers are a bit sketchy, and it could be that Burnout Paradise is a bit picky about some small feature - a problem that may have been patched in either the game or the driver (hence why graphics card drivers come out all the time)
