you would still need a seperate psu for it, a coldplate aswell
your setup would run it

you can get tec's on ebay pretty cheap
thats where i bought my 158w and 320w

How big is the base of the ek supreme?

Its got a very thin base so its important that the whole area of the TEC is not only covered by the waterblock base but that it is covered by part of the block that will cool adequately (ie the microfin area).

well thats an easy answer then NO it wont work a 200 watt TEC really isn't going to be powerful enough. and you dont have enough rads to keep it cool

Ive got a 320 rad..i would have though it would be sufficient plus Skullzaflare says otherwise...so im pretty confident in his saying so.

would not a normal psu work with the paper clip trick..ive got a decent dual rail psu laying around with like 30 amps combined..and thanks for the ebay recommendation.

I believe you're talking about exactly what SKullz is talking about. A 2nd PSU (not the one powering your PC) so and old PSU running with a paperclip should be just fine to power your TEC.

I wouldn't listen to him his last project didn't work to well. which is what we said before he started it . i might point out he used a more powerful TEC than 200watts too
http://www.overclock.net/peltiers-te...-question.html

. Dont forget you need massive pressure applied to the TEC so you pretty much need to bold the hot and cold sides together.

Give it a go though you dont have much to loose though

bah.. the 'paperclip'

Please for your own safety, just cut and twist [or solder] the green and one of the black wires from the 24pin connector together. I always discourage people from using non-insulated 'wires' for bridging connections.

I know its just 12v.. but it still hurts when it bites.

As for your TEC.. what you need to figure out first is the TEC's nominal voltage and the voltage you need to run it at to achieve the proper load. If you are using a ~15v TEC and running at 12v... your radiator should be sufficient with some really good airflow through it [ 6 fans in a push-pull ], though you will be loosing some efficiency as that radiator would not be able to hold the temps that a 480 would.. this will directly affect the TEC's ability to cool the CPU.

so, YES i think a 2nd PSU + the rad you have is fine.

..but, a larger rad would still be a better bet for maximizing your TEC's output.
