Hey guys, got an idea here.
__________________Im happy with my 2.8 processcor OCed to 3.3, and only want to help lower inc. air temp. What are some thoughts on mounting a cpu fan to each side of a pelt and rigging the cold side to blow into one of the intake areas of my case? Opening the window on a cold night and pointing my box at it _dramatically_ lowered idle temp (19°C at this OC omg!) so it gave me this idea. Does the heat transfer work the same? Will a cu or al based heatsink work in reverse? Im not looking to actually cool a CPU, my zalman does the job for my purposes.. Ive been juggling the ideas of using a mini usb fridge as a water cooler combined with a cheapo aquarium water pump and some copper piping, but that idea can get messy and expensive very quickly. Imagine a normal top mounted heat sink bolted to say a zalman 9700 style heatsink-fan with their respective sinks in contact with the peltier? Again, not looking for something to drop case temp to 5C or anything, but the alternative is to buy a room unit air conditioner and get an insulated dyerhose =/ The high-tech home-engineer method is more appealing and a lot cheaper imo, ive already got a heatsink/fan combo sitting in a box.. thoughts?

2 things ..
1 thing you can't use a mini fridge to cool a computer as it's not powerful enough 2 if i understand your setup correctly. one air cooler on the hot side out side the case and one air cooler on the cold side inside the case .. that should reduce the air temp to some degree . if the difference is noticeable will depend on a huge number of factors. though

You'll just be wasting energy.
To use a peltier, you should have it directly on the surface you want to cool.

Duck in this situation...the air hybrid of the tec is a waste of time...the tec must either be in a loop of water or best directly on the cpu block or cpu itself...anything else is just reinventing the wheel without it being the wheel once finished

If you are looking for chilled air, I'd highly suggest an AC unit.

Thanks for the helpful replies guys, I was thinking it may be a lot of effort for what it's worth, and indeed chilled inc. air is all that i'm looking for, so AC it is!

The ultra tec is a kool idea...just not sure that 50watts is very effect at cooling core 2 duo & quads specially to overclocked temps...still you can always crank up the ac in your house~!!!

Turing Test is Overrated

It fails with quads especially when overclocked.
