Default I burnt myself

was playing around with my new 168wattt toy and forgot which was hot which was cold. ended up putting it in backwards and touched it and boy howdy I found the side . only problem is I forgot which one it was again.
so yeah have a little blister on my hand that is about the size around of a pencil eraser.

so as far as it goes though with this thing is there anything I might be able to use it on though other then my fingers?

Touch it again with a fork which will only transfer a little bit of the energy long enough for you tell which one is which. Then mark it with a sharpie lol.

yes, mark it. I use blue and red permanent markers to draw a thin line around the edges of the device.
next time, just take it between your fingers, and flip the powerswitch for less than a second, then back. it shouldnt heat up enough to burn your fingers, its how i check before marking.

Just change the +/- lines.

Don't leave that TEC on for more a second or so, you'll break it without proper cooling.

I had it hooked up in my hr-03 sandwiched between the backing plate and the heat sink. so there was some cooling there. noticed the side that was against the back plate wasn't getting cold but seemed to be warming up a bit so I flipped the polarity around and touched it again and that is when I made the nice burn on my finger . I will mark it though next time though.

so just wondering though would this be enough to provide some measure of cooling to a e6600 or maybe even a x3350 with a tuniq to cool the hot side? Iknow that's quite a bit of heat to pump out and so I wouldn't expect much out of it and easily not sub ambient temps, but at least a little something out of it maybe? if not that's cool as I bought it more for fun after seeing the thread from moot.

You need more pressure on it, that's for sure. In that thread some of the more knowledgeable members on TECs talk about clamping pressure.

A 168w TEC will not be able to handle an overclocked quad.
